چکیده
Nanofibers fabrication nowadays has become unimaginable without mentioning or research involving the technique of electrospinning. Due to vast possibilities that this offers in regard nanofibers morphology, nanofibrous architecture, and application perspective, it main interest many scientists with various expertise profiles. Electrospun are advantageous over conventional fibers due their lightweight, high surface-to-volume ratio, adjustable fiber diameter/morphology, well-controlled functionality. This chapter will highlight nanofibers’ functionalization toward nanomedical applications including, drug delivery, wound healing systems, tissue engineering scaffolds a focus on bone nerve repair. The latest studies (from 2017 onwards) discussed terms materials’ composition, technologies, significant performance cultured cells vitro most importantly regenerated after implantation vivo.

Electrospun Polymer Fibers for Electronic Applications
Nano- and micro- fibers of conjugated polymer semiconductors are particularly interesting both for applications and for fundamental research. They allow an investigation into how electronic properties are influenced by size confinement and chain orientation within microstructures that are not readily accessible within thin films. Moreover, they open the way to many applications in organic elect...
متن کاملElectrospun Fibers in Composite Materials for Medical Applications
The development of nanoscaled materials has deserved a remarkable interest for biomedical applications. Biological tissues are essentially composite materials with particular mechanical properties that should be carefully considered during the design of innovative biomedical scaffolds. Electrospun membranes are often found in medical applications due to its high specific surface which creates a...
متن کاملElectrospun Fibers as a Dressing Material for Drug and Biological Agent Delivery in Wound Healing Applications
Wound healing is a complex tissue regeneration process that promotes the growth of new tissue to provide the body with the necessary barrier from the outside environment. In the class of non-healing wounds, diabetic wounds, and ulcers, dressing materials that are available clinically (e.g., gels and creams) have demonstrated only a slow improvement with current available technologies. Among all...
متن کاملPreparation and evaluation of the electrospun chitosan/PEO fibers for potential applications in cartilage tissue engineering.
Fibrous materials have morphological similarities to natural cartilage extracellular matrix and have been considered as candidate for bone tissue engineering scaffolds. In this study, we have evaluated a novel electrospun chitosan mat composed of oriented sub-micron fibers for its tensile property and biocompatibility with chondrocytes (cell attachment, proliferation and viability). Scanning el...
متن کاملSynthesis, characterization, and antimicrobial properties of novel double layer nanocomposite electrospun fibers for wound dressing applications
Herein, novel hybrid nanomaterials were developed for wound dressing applications with antimicrobial properties. Electrospinning was used to fabricate a double layer nanocomposite nanofibrous mat consisting of an upper layer of poly(vinyl alcohol) and chitosan loaded with silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) and a lower layer of polyethylene oxide (PEO) or polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) nanofibers loaded w...
